The sale of the real estate and the business was finalized earlier today. Silver Dollar, Inc, which also manages The Wort Hotel, will take over the day to day operation at the opening at noon today. Baxter Properties, WY principal, Bill Baxter commented, “This is an exciting time for our family to have the opportunity to continue the great tradition of The Million Dollar Cowboy Bar. We wish Art and Carol the very best and thank them for 30 great years of stewardship.”
Jim Waldrop, Vice President of Silver Dollar, Inc. further commented, “Silver Dollar Inc. looks forward to the opportunity to manage this iconic property. We also look forward to welcoming Buddy Howell into his new role as the General Manager of The Cowboy. Very exciting times for us all.”
No major changes are slated for The Million Dollar Cowboy Bar, and core group of long term employees of The Cowboy are continuing with the new owners. There will be some interior and exterior renovation work completed in the spring of 2018. A grand re-opening is slated for May, 2018.
