Blue Highway
Highly esteemed contemporary bluegrass band Blue Highway will play the inaugural “Bluegrass Session” in the Silver Dollar Showroom on Nov 21, 2019. Over their career, the band has earned an impressive 34 awards from the two national bluegrass music associations, one Dove Award, and three GRAMMY nominations. In April 2016, the readers of Bluegrass Today voted Blue Highway “Favorite Bluegrass Artist of All Time”.
This year, Blue Highway is celebrating their 25th Anniversary with a new album titled Somewhere Far Away. The album is lifted by the band’s three award-winning songwriters and vocalists, Tim Stafford, Wayne Taylor, and Shawn Lane, whose harmonies soar over the dynamic banjo of Jason Burleson and the tasteful Dobro of Gary Hultman. The project’s first two singles, “That Sounds More Like Heaven to Me” and “Both Ends of the Train” topped the bluegrass charts.
Talent buyer, Justin Smith says, “These guys are absolute legends and to see them in the up-close intimacy of the Silver Dollar Showroom will be jaw-dropping and highly inspirational. This show will mark their first performance in this region and to have them at The Silver Dollar is a dream come true for us.”
